What is UGC-NET?

Eligibility Criteria :
Any Post Graduate candidate with minimum 55% of Marks can appear for the UGC NET exam. The minimum score for SC/ST/PH candidates is 50% Marks. Those Candidates who are currently pursuing their final year PG can also appear for the NET exam. Ph.D. holders will be given exemption of 5% of Marks. The candidate should not have crossed the Age limit of 28 years by the date of the Notification. There is No age limit for the Post of Lectureship.
Changes in UGC NET 2018
The exam pattern has been changed from this year. Earlier there were three Papers, now instead of three papers, there will be only two papers. However, there is no change in the syllabus yet. UGC NET Paper 1 & Paper II will cover the entire syllabus of earlier Paper II and III.
The upper age limit for the award of JRF has been increased by 2 years. Earlier it was 28 years which is 30 years from the year 2018.
