The WHO Board resolution recognizes Dr. Paul as an internationally renowned researcher, educator and public health advocate. Niti Ayog was established in 2015 by the NDA government, to replace the Planning Commission which followed the top-down model. It is known as National Institution for Transforming India, policy think tank of Government of India, has been established with the aim to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and to enhance cooperative federalism by fostering involvement of State Governments of India in the economic policy-making process using a bottom-up approach.
